Google Accounts Strategists – Where Are They From & Are They Legit? Let’s Review & Compare.

If you’ve had a “Google Ads Account Strategist” reach out to you and offer to help you optimize your account, the first thing you need to know is that these reps do NOT work for Google. This may seem obvious to people in the marketing industry like us. However, I’ve noticed that many of our Google Ads clients aren’t aware of this fact and when one of these “strategists” reaches out to them by phone or email, they get all excited thinking that someone over at Google in Mountain View California wants to help them out…

Who Are These Strategists?

Google Account Strategists hail from from various offshore companies (India takes the lions share) that have signed agreements with Google to offer onboarding and support services to Google Ads users.

Now, here at Little Dragon Media, we get calls from these strategists all the time! Since we have a Google MCC account and handle multiple client accounts, there’s always a strategist around the corner offering to help with one account or another.

They call us claiming they can help us optimize one of our client accounts, even when the account in question is performing very well already. Needless to say, we almost never take them up on their offer.

From my experience, the only time these strategists can be useful is if you have a technical issue with your account and need it escalated to higher tier support.

Conclusion – Nothing Beats Hiring an Agency

Regardless of which company your “Google Ads Account Strategist” is calling you from, you will likely be disappoined with the outcome. These strategists are essentially just sales reps on commissions. Their goal is to get you to spend more. Now, they are good at covering the basics, but they won’t be able to truly help you get the best results out of your Google Ads budget.

If you want to get the best ROI/ROAS out of your campaigns, nothing beats hiring an agency to manage your Google Ads accounts. Agencies like ours have a vested interest in your success, since they want to retain you as a client for the long-term.
